Evening programme (you can choose from two alternatives)

BBQ @ Eichholz
Meeting point:          Bundesplatz (in front of the Parliament Building)
Time:                         19:30 and at 20:30 for the ones who need some time off before they come.
The Eichholz is located directly at the Aare, the River which passes Berne. A lot of locals prefer going there for having a BBQ or for taking a refreshing swim. The spacious meadow allows you to enjoy a pleasant BBQ. We will provide a grill station, a salad buffet, a piece of meat or sausage and something to drink. However, to simplify the organisation you need to sign in for the BBQ. Getting there is not that easy, that is why we provide you a service of guiding you there. The walk there takes about 35 minutes. Most of the time we are walking alongside the beautiful river.

Public Viewing @ City Beach
Meeting point:          Entrance UniS
Time:                         20:30
If you rather like to watch the quarter-final of Euro 2012 we can suggest you a visit of the City Beach Berne. Located on the „Grosse Schanze“ you can enjoy the Soccer-Game whilst having a picturesque view all over Berne and the Swiss-Alps. The „Grosse Schanze“ is just across the street of the conference location, in fact it’s about 200 meters away. So if you prefer sitting over walking, or you’re just looking for a simple way to go for a drink, the City Beach is your best choice on Thursday night. You don’t need to sign in for joining this. If you are planning to go there and don’t know how to get there we guide you.

The Swissness workshop is divided in five different stations with typical things and activities of Swiss culture. You can make your own experience in yodelling, milking a cow, throwing a flag or trying our specialities like cheese, chocolate or rivella. Those of you, who have the guts, can fight against one of our Swiss wrestlers or just watch the show of this traditional Swiss way of fight, which arose on the highest Swiss Alps five hundred years ago.
It would give us great pleasure if you’ll enjoy our workshop to learn some special things about Switzerland and our cultural oddities.

Conference Dinner
During the Conference Dinner (start at 19:30) at the Gurten Up Town-Resort there is the possibility of heading over to the observation tower where you can enjoy a brilliant view over Berne. If the weather conditions are good you can even see the Alps and the Jura-Chain.
